Change is possible. Let's begin
I’m so glad you’ve found your way to my site. Are you feeling stuck, frustrated, or confused about how to feel better and live the life you want? I’d love to work with you to create lasting and meaningful change in your life. Whether it’s depression, anxiety, persistent mental health issues, or trauma-we can understand what’s happened for you and where you would like to be. If you want a life that is based in purpose and meaning I'm the kind of therapist who can help you focus on making choices that reflect your values. I work with individuals ranging from 12 years old and up. I also take couples, polyamorous formations, and families. I serve all LGBTQ populations as well as women, men, trans, gender non-conforming (GNC), and non-binary folks. Room to explore all facets of gender and sexual identities, including contemplation and transition.
“...there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do --
determined to save
the only life you could save.”

What is therapy like?
MY STYLE
My therapy style is deeply warm and empathetic while also challenging and direct. I believe that your best life is waiting, and together we can discern what you need to get there.
The therapeutic theories I draw from are Attachment Theory, Feminist Multicultural Therapy, Humanistic Psychology, and Gestalt. I use Solution Focused therapy to create goals and we'll practice Mindfulness skills and Somatic Awareness tools to reach said goals. I offer therapy in an experiential way, meaning that you will experience an embodiment of emotion and mindset shifts during our appointments that you can then practice in your daily life.
Themes of oppression, privilege, and trauma affect every one of us, and I believe our healing work as humans is to analyze these wounds. I'm a white bodied, queer person committed to anti-racist work, which influences my point of view and how I show up in the world. Intersectionality is a guiding force in my life and my work, so looking at areas where we inhabit power and where we feel oppression allows us to see ourselves in all our complexity. We will work together to understand how systemic oppression affects you as an individual human, and how to release internalized oppression.
WHERE DO WE START?
Therapy with me starts with a phone consultation, and if you’re interested, we schedule three sessions to get a feel for each other. If it seems like we’re a good fit, I will collaborate with you to envision goals for our work together. This can look like alleviating symptoms, changing patterns you find yourself stuck in, or creating different kinds of relationships.
Therapy with me requires a commitment, both to yourself and our time together. This is not easy work, but freedom and liberation never are. If you're interested in learning more, please reach out for a free consultation call.

About Me

I was born and raised in the Midwest amidst trees, water and wildlife. After college I wandered the world, worked many different jobs, and eventually landed in California and have been planted here since.
I have a long history of activism, non-profit work, as well as international travel and spiritual studies. I have always been drawn to attempting to understand our human experience and I believe in our capacity to heal from harm, evolve as a species, and work towards better versions of ourselves.
